​​Founder Chris Koa launched the firm after over 20 years of legal experience in both in-house counsel roles at Fortune 500 companies including Microsoft, Dell, BP and Prudential and AmLaw 100 law firms including Wilson Sonsini and Dorsey & Whitney, where he focused on advising startups and small and medium sized businesses.

Between legal roles, Chris' has also acquired business-side business development, consulting and financial services experience as an investment banker and legal technologies consultant with WR Hambrecht and Marsh McLennan.

​​​Chris earned his JD from New York University (NYU) Law School, MPA from Princeton University and BA in English Literature from Carleton College. ​​​Chris clerked for The Honorable Edward J. Schwartz (United States Federal District Court for the Southern District of California) in San Diego, CA upon graduation from NYU Law School.

Chris also teaches Privacy, M&A, and Securities at Seattle University Law School. ​​

Chris is a member of the Washington, California, and Texas bars. ​He holds three Privacy certifications including Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)- US, Europe, and Canada.​
